Message from Anthony Wynn, Producer of the video version of Barry Morse's Merely Players which premiered at MainMission:2000:

On behalf of the Merely Players team—Barry Morse, Robert Wood, Daril Anthes, and Terry Bowers—please let me express our gratitude and thanks to Tom Lowery, Robert Ruiz, and the other volunteers who worked so hard to put together such a far-reaching and wonderful series of events in the Big Apple over Labor Day Weekend. I believe all who attended the screening and performance of Merely Players on Sunday evening will agree that this evening of theatre was indeed something very special, and a fitting tribute to "The Management," the one and only Sydney Sturgess. The video version of Merely Players was the culmination of many months of hard work and we are pleased that this presentation will continue to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson's disease treatment and research for some time to come. As well, it was especially pleasing to have the support of the Convention Committee and to know that proceeds from this evening and the rest of the convention will benefit this cause that is so close to the heart of Barry Morse, and consequently many more of us.

Producer

Message from Robert Ruiz:

After a solid year of work on MainMission:2000, and nearly four full years on the Net with the Space: 1999 Cybrary, it's time for me to wrap things up and to move on with my life. I thank Space: 1999 for what it has given me over the past 25 years and for what it has taught me, for the people it has brought into my life, and also for being the catalyst for my move back to New York City after an 11 year absence.

The remaining portion of the Space: 1999 Cybrary will be removed from the Net shortly, and at this point I will be focusing almost exclusively on finalizing the conversion and enhancement of the full site to a 25th anniversary commemorative CD-ROM edition for those who pledged and are entitled to a copy as a pledge premium. I will also be continuing with web services for the MainMission:2000 web site for just a little while longer, but all other open-ended items (such as premiums distribution) will be handled by MainMission:2000 Chairman Tom Lowery.

I thank everyone I've met along the way during the past five years with Space: 1999 for what they've taught me about people and group dynamics (good and bad), and I especially thank those members of the Space: 1999 Internet Mailing List from five years ago who inspired me with their kindness and dedication to want to give back to the community and to advance the series wherever possible. Many of you are some of the finest people I've ever met in my life, or whom I could ever hope to meet, and with MainMission:2000 and the conversion of the Cybrary to CD-ROM I feel I'm going out on a high note.

I will forever be proud of all the firsts that Tom Lowery and I were able to accomplish with the 25th anniversary convention (such as convincing Catherine Schell to attend for the first time ever, for introducing John Hug, George Bellak, Christopher Penfold, Kevin Connor, and Keith Wilson to American audiences for the first time, for [with John Muir] getting a new article on Space: 1999 in the current issue of Cinescape magazine, and for getting the series reconsidered in several important venues as well).

It's been a wonderful odyssey, but like Dr. Helena Russell Number 2 in Johnny Byrne's Another Time, Another Place, my time here is at an end.

Any further comments and questions regarding MainMission:2000 should be directed to Tom Lowery.

Best wishes to you all in all your future endeavors.
